Learning outcomes. After passing the course successfully,
● The student has a simple, contextual, yet academically rigorous, approach to the
exegesis of Jeremiah.
● The Student applies basic skills of identifying meaningful wholes and their respective
genres in the book of Jeremiah.
● The student analyzes the text of Jeremiah by asking the most important question, viz.
What does the passage say about God?
● The student compares four kinds of historical background to the book of Jeremiah and
their relevance to its exegesis.
● The student relates the analysis of the exegesis of Jeremiah to four specific aspects of
Christian worship.
● The Student understands the nature of Old Testament prophecy and prophetic
literature as exemplified by by the Book of Jeremiah.
