Kontsert-vestlusõhtu “Vaimustav Looja” / Concert-discussion “Amazing Creator”

Kõrgem Usuteaduslik Seminar kutsub 1. novembril Kalamaja kirikusse (Kalju 1) kontsert-vestlusõhtule „Vaimustav Looja“, üles astub jazzpianist Joel Remmel, küsimusi küsib Meego Remmel.

Kontserdil kõlavad tuntud vaimulikud hümnid, laulud ja rahvaviisid värsketes klaveriseadetes eesti tunnustatud jazzmuusiku Joel Remmeli teiselt sooloalbumilt „Vaimustav Looja“ (2023). Kuigi peamine rõhk neis lauludes on sõnadel ja sõnumil, on paljudele laulude tekst niivõrd tuttav, et võimaldab instrumentaalversiooni kuulates sõnumile mõeldes kaasa mõtiskleda. Joel Remmel on kogu oma teadliku elu käinud Tallinnas Kalju Baptistikoguduses ning musitseerib sageli jumalateenistustel. Tema sõnul on eriilmelistes projektides aidanud sobilikku sisendit anda just vaimuliku muusika regulaarne mängimine, kus esitaja pole kõige kese, vaid fookus on Kõrgemal. 

Kontsert-vestlusõhtuga tähistame ka taasavatud KUS-i 35. aastapäeva.

Estonian Free Church Theological Seminary invites to a concert-discussion “Amazing Creator” with jazz pianist Joel Remmel and discussion leader Meego Remmel. 

At the concert, well-known spiritual hymns, songs and folk tunes will be performed in new piano arrangements from the second solo album “Amazing Creator” (2023) by the renowned Estonian jazz musician Joel Remmel. Although the main emphasis in these songs is on the words and the message, for many the lyrics are so familiar that listening to the instrumental version allows the listener to reflect on the message. Joel Remmel has been attending Kalju Baptist Church in Tallinn all his conscious life and often plays music in church services. According to him, it is the regular playing of sacred music, where the performer is not the center of everything, but the focus is on the Higher, that has helped to provide the right input for different kinds of projects. 

The concert-discussion will also mark the 35th anniversary of the re-opening of Estonian Free Church Theological Seminary.
